A joint effort of Center for Fast Ultrasound Imaging at DTU and Department of Biomedical Engineering, Duke University.

The summer school was organized by professor Jørgen Arendt Jensen professor Gregg Trahey, Department of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University.

Guest lectures were given by professor Mickael Tanter, Institut Langevin, Paris Tech, France, professor Erik Villain Thomsen, DTU Nanotech, Technical University of Denmark, professor Peter Burns at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto and the faculty from Center for Fast Ultrasound Imaging as well as Biomedical Engineering at Duke University.

The aim was to give a hands-on introduction to advanced ultrasound imaging and its theoretical and practical basis. This included the concepts of linear acoustic systems, spatial impulse responses, k-space, simulation, signal processing, contrast agents and imaging.

The course consisted of a set of lectures given by international experts in ultrasound imaging, CMUT probes, contrast agents, and signal processing coupled with exercises and project work.
